What happens if we need more or less care?
Answer:
It’s as simple as calling your case manager. We will always adjust to your needs. We understand that some people need more care and other people will need less care, and we will adjust with you as your needs change.
How Long does a live-in aide stay in place for?
Answer:
Most of our Live-in aides will stay in place for 12 days and then take a couple of days off. During the Aides time off we will supply you with a relief aide until your regularly scheduled aide returns. We believe in the continuity of care and want you to have the same aide as long as possible. We won’t send a different aide every few days and usually your relief aide will be the same person.
Answer:
Yes. All of our caregivers are our employees. They are screened, bonded, covered under our liability insurance and worker’s compensation insurance. Seniors In Place does NOT send Independent Contractors into your home. Seniors In Place is the employer and carries all necessary insurance, conforms to appropriate labor-laws, abides by the New Jersey Board of Nursing requirements and ensures you have a caring and skilled caregiver.
What if we want to cancel services?
Answer:
It’s as simple as calling your case manager. You are not bound to any period of time and can cancel or change services at anytime. The nice thing to know is that even if you cancel services you will always be a part of the Seniors In place family. If you find that you need care again, it’s also as simple as calling your case manager and we will immediately get you set up with care again.
Does your agreement obligate us to a period of time?
Answer:
Our agreement does not obligate anyone to any period of time. You are free to cancel our service at any time with just a phone call. As a courtesy to the caregiver we ask that if possible, please try to give a few days notice so we can re-locate your caregiver.
Do we have the same caregiver all the time?
Answer:
We strive to provide our clients with the same caregiver on a routine basis. We often find that strong bonds are built between our clients and caregivers when they have a long-term caring relationship. Depending on your specific needs, you may have multiple caregivers that provide services throughout the week.
Do we get to meet the caregiver?
Answer:
Absolutely. One of our senior staff will bring the caregiver to meet with the client and any members of the family. We guarantee our caregiver to you. If at any time you are unhappy with a caregiver we will replace the caregiver. Naturally, you always have the option of terminating our service. We really have excellent caregivers. They go through a thorough a 4-stage hiring process, criminal background check, personal and professional reference check. We only hire about 3% of all applicants. As a result we have never had a case of abuse or theft. We have on occasion replaced a caregiver because of personality conflicts. Today 60% of marriages do not work out. Taking total strangers and putting them together can sometimes be challenging. We get the nicest complements from our clients. Everyone seems to love our caregivers.
